Wanaque School PTA Seeks Donations For Tricky Tray
WANAQUE, N.J. — The PTA is asking families in the community to make a donation go a basket or prize to benefit the upcoming Tricky Tray fundraiser. Proceeds from this event helps support the PTA so it can continue to provide enriching programs for Wanaque school children. License Furry Friends For Ho-Ho-Kus Pet Census
HO-HO-KUS, N.J. — A dog and cat census is underway in the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus and residents are reminded that pets must be licensed by Monday, Feb. 29. According to Ho-Ho-Kus Code, any person who owns, keeps or harbors a dog or cat of licensing age, must apply for a license from the borough every year. Failure to do so can result in a summons. If a summons is issued, there is a mandatory court appearance, a $100 fine, plus court costs. There will be no exceptions. Saddle Brook Youth Athletes Join Basketball Day
SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — Saddle Brook Basketball Day was held Saturday, Feb. 13, with games for boys and girls played throughout the day. Commissioner Manny Scarangella organized the event with the help of coaches and parents. Games were scheduled in all age groups. There also was a DJ to introduce all participants and play music and sound effects during the games and to cheer on the teams. The National Anthem was played before each game as a show of patriotism. Garnerville Bus Crash Knocks Out Power, Closes Main Street
GARNERVILLE, N.Y. — Part of Main Street closed and over 2,000 people were without power in Garnerville most of Tuesday after a bus crashed through a utility pole in the early morning hours, reports News12. A Transport of Rockland bus hit a patch of ice Feb. 16 while driving on Main Street around 6:30 a.m., lost control and knocked the pole down, according to News12. MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. — A white Coton de Tuléar disappeared from Crow Hill Road in Mount Kisco on Friday afternoon and is still missing. Anyone with information is asked to call 914-244-0430. The male dog goes by the name ‘Giogio.’ The Coton de Tuléar is a breed of small dog named for the city of Tuléar in Madagascar and for its cotton-like coat. The breed is somewhat longer than tall. Bridgeport City Council To Decide Fate Of Police Chief
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Mayor Joe Ganim and the Bridgeport City Council will decide next week whether the city's police chief can retire and take another emergency management position in the city, according to ctpost.com. Police Chief Joseph Gaudett has been on the force since the 1980s, and his $131,000 contract was up in December until the outgoing mayor extended it another five years, reports ctpost.com.
