North Haledon's Scouts Prepare For Breakfast On The Mountain
NORTH HALEDON, N.J. -- The North Haledon Boy Scouts Troop 170 and Cub Scout Pack 70 will host "Breakfast on the Mountain" at the summit of High Mountain on Saturday. The hike is approximately 3 miles and will conclude with breakfast at the summit followed by a hike back down. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended. But on National Honesty Day, celebrated annually the last day in April, it's time to come clean.National Honesty Day was launched in the early 1990s by author M. Diversity Discussed At Westchester, Putnam Library Conference
HARRISON, N.Y. -- Librarians were urged to become agents of change by creating libraries that meet the needs of diverse students at the sixth annual School Libraries Systems Conference sponsored by Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES and Southern Westchester BOCES. The conference, held on April 15, brought together librarians from Westchester and Putnam counties for a series of workshops on topics including diversity, coding, augmented reality, and more. Westchester SPCA Rescuing Victims Of The llegal Meat Trade
SPCA of Westchester is helping the Soi Dog Foundation and the Thai government to stop the cruel yet lucrative dog meat trade. Through the collaboration, SPCA of Westchester learned that many of the dogs highly adoptable. The SPCA agreed to transport, rehabilitate and find loving homes for three special dogs. Honey Blue, Carmel and Indy are scheduled to arrive at the SPCA on May 3. Sanctuary Series Presenting South Salem Mother's Day Concert
SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The Sanctuary Series continues on Mother's Day at the South Salem Presbyterian Church on Sunday, May 8. "Like Clockwork" will be performed by pianist Anthony Newman and flautist (and Emmy-nominated journalist) Eugenia Zukerman at 3 p.m., followed by a champagne reception.
