Fairfield Cops: Man, 66, Faces Litany Of Charges In Police Chase FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairland Drive senior citizen who led police on a twisting, early morning chase through Fairfield streets in July was arrested Friday on a number of motor vehicle charges, police said. Allen Freedman, 66, was charged with reckless driving, engaging in pursuit, improper passing, failure to drive in the proper lane, driving the wrong way, unsafe backing, failure to obey a control signal and failure to obey a stop sign, police said. Fairfield Police: Man With Criminal History Caught Shoplifting In Town FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport man with an "extensive criminal history" was arrested for shoplifting from a Black Rock Turnpike store Sunday when he was found with a bag of merchandise a short ways down the road, police said. Joseph Mauro, 35, of Fairfield Avenue, concealed $204.96 in items from the CVS and then walked out of the Fairway Plaza store, police said. Fairfield Cops: Shoplifting Mother And Daughter Tase Store Clerk FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A would-be shoplifter and her 12-year-old daughter kicked out the front glass doors of a Post Road convenience store and tased the clerk after he locked them in the store and called for help, police said.
