Bamboo-Loving Panda To Get New Digs At Beardsley Zoo BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Rochan the red panda pranced around his enclosure at the Beardsley Zoo on Tuesday, trying to beat the heat in the sun-dappled shade. Money Matters Mean More Music For One Bridgeport Teen BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport teen won top honors — and an iPod Shuffle — while gaining valuable financial know-how through the city’s Lighthouse program this summer. Fairfield Police Charge Woman With Hit And Run Of Donut Crazy Food Truck FAIRFIELD, Conn. — An Ansonia driver faces several charges in Fairfield after she struck a local food truck and left the scene, police said. Yesenia Medina, 29, of Orchard Street, was arrested Sunday on a warrant for the July incident, police said. Medina was turning right from Chambers Street to Kings Highway East when she struck a bright orange Donut Crazy truck, police said. All Eyes Were On The Skies For Eclipse In Westport, Bridgeport WESTPORT, Conn. — In a scene reminiscent of “Close Encounters of The Third Kind,” hundreds craned their heads skyward Monday at Westport’s Rolnick Observatory to get a glimpse of the first visible solar eclipse in more than 25 years. Fairfield Police: Crying Baby, Passed-Out Woman Found In Locked Car FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Officers called to a crying baby locked in a parked car Friday found a woman who appeared to have taken heroin slumped over in the driver’s seat, police said. Terri Torres, 25, of Taft Avenue, was charged with possession of narcotics and risk of injury to a minor, police said.
