Erica Haba, 54, of Midland Street, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and following too close after the 11 a.m. pileup at the intersection of Black Rock Turnpike and Commerce Street, police said. Crowder was a senior at Fairfield Ludlowe High School. His body was pulled from about 15 feet of water at about 7 p.m. by divers and transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. Resuscitative efforts continued until 8:10 p.m., when he was pronounced dead, police said.
