Fairfield Police: Possible Car Thief Comes Up Empty-Handed FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A would-be thief broke into a Post Road car rental business early today, police said. Around 1:13 a.m., officers responded to an alarm at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where they found the lower portion of the rear glass door had been shattered, police said. The interior of the business was rummaged through and the key box on the wall was open, police said. A staff member who came to the scene found no cash missing and all of the vehicle keys accounted for in a locked safe. No vehicles were stolen.  Fairfield Police alerted surrounding police departments to the incident.
