Police said the man exposed himself between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sept. 5 and Sept. 23. New Fire Truck Rolls Into Bridgeport's East Side BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim and Fire Chief Richard Thode on Wednesday will unveil a new fire truck to be stationed at the city’s East Side Fire Department. City Council members and the public are also expected as the mayor and chief welcome custom-built Ladder 10 to the Boston Avenue station at 10 a.m. This summer, the fire department unveiled its new fire safety truck, which was donated to the department by The Leary Firefighters Foundation.

Stop outside Fairfield Public Library from 5:30 to 7 p.m. tonight for free samples from some of the 20 participating trucks. The Friends of Fairfield Public Library will present the first festival from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at Jennings Beach. All proceeds benefit the library. Admission to the festival is $5 and children under 12 get in for free. There will be free parking and the food trucks will charge their usual rates.

Fairfield Cops: Teen Driver Avoids Deer, Ends Up In Sasco Creek FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A teen driver was taken to the hospital Friday evening after he hit a tree and rolled into Sasco Creek, police said. The 17-year-old Fairfield resident told officers he was traveling westbound on Cross Highway around 7 p.m., when he swerved to avoid a deer in the road and his car rolled, hit the tree and went into the creek. 
He was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said. He received a verbal warning for failure to drive right.

Fairfield Police & Fire Aid Man With Overturned Boat Off Sasco Beach FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Police and fire boats responded Friday afternoon, when a sailboat overturned, leaving the boater in the water. Police reached the man, who was wearing a life jacket, near Sunken Island off Sasco Beach around 2:45 p.m. He was brought aboard and then transferred to a fire boat. Fire personnel took him to Ye Yacht Yard where an ambulance was waiting, but the man said he had no injuries and declined treatment, police said. Meanwhile, police righted the boat and the man was transported back out to it.

Fairfield Police Investigating Beer Bottle Attack On Woman In Downtown Bar FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport woman told police someone hit her over the head with a beer bottle at a Sanford Street eatery early Saturday. The 28-year-old said the culprit was someone in a large group that left the bar at Crave in two cars around 1 a.m. The victim, who refused medical treatment, said she accidentally bumped into a woman standing at the bar earlier and believed that woman may have hit her, police said. When questioned, no one in the victim’s party saw the attacker. Police will review surveillance video in their ongoing investigation.

Fairfield Cops: DUI Charge Leads To Protective Order Arrest For Pair FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A driver and her passenger were both arrested for violating protective orders to stay away from each other when either has been drinking after police say the woman was driving drunk on Interstate 95. The incident started shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday, when an employee at Cumberland Farms called police to report a woman who was swaying and slurring her speech attempting to talk to patrons before leaving the Kings Highway East store, police said.
