Shelton Police: Substitute Teacher Arrested On School Property SHELTON, Conn. — Shelton police on Thursday arrested a substitute teacher when she was warned to stay off school properties and was spotted at the Board of Education, police said. Nichelle Smith, 41, of Naugatuck, was charged with third-degree criminal trespass in the incident, police said. Officers responded to Shelton High School on a report of an unwanted person. Shelton Police: Man Hatches Scheme To Have Daughter's Boyfriend Arrested SHELTON, Conn. — A Seymour dad was arrested today for hiring a man to falsely accuse his 20-year-old daughter’s boyfriend of armed robbery so the boyfriend would go to jail, police said. On July 13, Philip Prokop, 47, and his mother paid 20-year-old Thomas Owen cash and drove him to the Shelton Police Department, where he filed an armed robbery complaint against the boyfriend, who lives in Shelton, police said.
