Texas Firefighters: Westport's Bravest Have Your Back With T-Shirt Donation WESTPORT, Conn. — Some Texas firefighters who hae been working to help victims of Hurricane Harvey will have something clean to wear, thanks to the Westport Fire Department. At the request of the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office, Westport Fire Department donated 125 T-shirts bearing the department logo to be distributed to Texas firefighters who have suffered losses during the relief efforts. The T-shirts give the firefighters something new to wear after losing so much and allows them to recognize the department, locals, associations and fire companies that were able to assist.

Michael McCrorken, 28, of Ward Street, was charged with second-degree larceny and 37 counts of first-degree forgery for writing the checks from his employer, the owner of A Dash of Salt, a Post Road East catering company, police said. The victim filed a fraud complaint with Westport Police on May 1, after he discovered digital copies of 37 checks made out to McCrorken from his business. Bridgeport To Temporarily Close Bridge For Repair Work BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The city will temporarily close the East Washington Avenue bridge o Sept. 6, so workers can complete mechanical and electrical repairs to the span. Storm and saltwater damage require a detour route around the bridge over Bridgeport Harbor. Traffic will be routed to River Street from Knowlton Street heading west and North Washington Avenue to River Street from Housatonic Avenue heading east.
