Police: Bridgeport Man Charged In Murder Lured His Victim With Car Alarm BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Police on Thursday arrested a man they say lured another man out of his home July 2, then fatally shot him from a neighboring yard. The Fugitive Task Force arrested Richard Evans, 37, of Dogwood Drive, and charged him with murder, criminal possession of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit, police said. He was held on $1 million bond. Evidence shows Evans lured Reginald May, 44, from his Alice Street apartment by setting off a car alarm, police said. Fairfield Puppeteer Makes It Look Easy Being Green In Kermit The Frog Debut FAIRFIELD, Conn. — It’s official: Fairfield’s own Matt Vogel made his debut this week as the new voice of moss-hued Muppet Kermit the Frog. Vogel is featured in the latest “Muppet Thought of the Week” video doing a not-too-shabby impression of his idol, the late Muppets creator Jim Henson. The puppeteer, who has worked for the Jim Henson Company since the 1990s, was chosen as just the third person to voice Miss Piggy’s paramour, following Henson and Steve Whitmire, who assumed the role after Henson’s death in 1990. Spinners Will Pedal To Help Hurricane Harvey Victims At CT JoyRide Studios FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — JoyRide Cycling + Fitness Studio is doing its part to help those facing Hurricane Harvey in Texas. The business will donate a portion of sales on its busiest day, Saturday, at all five studios in Connecticut — JoyRide Westport, JoyRide Darien, JoyRide Ridgefield, JoyRide Wilton and JoyX in Westport. JoyRide has two studios in San Antonio, Tx. and they are also raising money and coordinating relief efforts for those in the flood zone. San Antonio missed the hurricane’s wrath by just a few miles. Bridgeport Man Charged With Murder In Case Of Dead Man Found In Burning Car BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport man was charged with murder and held on $1 million in connection with a June homicide, police said Wednesday. On Wednesday morning, detectives arrested Anthony Reeves, 34, of Trumbull Avenue, in connection with the June 7 death of Jason Nieves. Town Of Stratford Takes Control Of 40 Acres In Sikorsky Airport Deal STRATFORD, Conn. — The Town of Stratford recently received about 40 acres of land as part of a 2012 agreement with Bridgeport to create a smaller, safer Sikorsky Airport. The town received a roughly 34-acre parcel — including the entrance and parking lot at Long Beach and a 7.65-acre site at the corner of Access Road and Lordship Boulevard — in the improvement project at the airport, which is owned by the city of Bridgeport. Jackson Sydnor, Norwalk Native, Dies At 74 NORWALK, Conn. -- Jackson Sydnor, a Norwalk native and longtime Peekskill, N.Y. resident died Monday, Aug. 14, after a short illness. He was 74. Sydnor enjoyed playing cards, taking walks and, last but not least, dancing and being the life of the party.
