Manhunt Ends With Stratford Man's Arrest In Fairfield Home Invasion FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Stratford man was arrested on home invasion and other charges Wednesday after an early morning K-9 manhunt in the Brooklawn area of town, police said. Police arrested Markus Denzel Smith, 22, after finding him running through yards on Marne Avenue in the 4:30 a.m. incident. Officers were called to the area on a report of a homeowner hearing suspicious noises and finding a door ajar at his Brooklawn Terrace home. Fairfield Police: Unlocked New Car Goes Missing In Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Taintor Drive resident who left his new $34,000 car unlocked with the keys inside on Sunday is now looking for his stolen car, police said. The man reported the blue 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe was last seen parked outside his home at 9 p.m. Sunday. When he looked for it around 6:45 a.m. Monday, the car was gone. Police continue to warn residents to lock their cars at night.

Two Loud Parties Mean Infractions For Five College Students FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Police were called to two loud college parties last weekend. On Friday around 11:45 p.m., a neighbor reported loud music and lots of guests at a party on Fairfield Beach Road. Police called to the scene wrote infractions for creating a public disturbance for the four residents of the house: J.K. Three Boat Rescues Reported Off Fairfield, Bridgeport Over Weekend FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield police were called to assist in three water rescues over the weekend. On Friday around 4:15 p.m., officers helped a boater who had run over a buoy marker, fouled the prop on his 31-foot sailboat and was listing to starboard aground on the reef, police said. The boat was towed to a mooring in Black Rock Harbor. Around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, police rescued a man and his dog from a boat on the “little cows” just south of the lighthouse. Fairfield Police: Bridgeport Women Caught Shoplifting At Kohl's FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Two Bridgeport women were arrested in separate shoplifting incidents at Kohl’s on Sunday, police said. A loss prevention officer at the Tunxis Hill Road store said he saw Amanda Marie Lovar, 25, of East Main Street, pick out about $247 worth of clothing and put it in her bag before leaving the store.
