Police: Bridgeport Bookkeeper Embezzled $29K From Westport Business WESTPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport bookkeeper was charged with embezzlement Tuesday, after her employers told police she stole more than $29,000 from them, police said. Kimberly Goodman, 33, of Midland Street, was charged with first-degree larceny in the case, which spanned from February through this month. On Oct. 5, Goodman’s employers came to police headquarters to report she had made fraudulent transactions in order to credit her personal accounts multiple times each month, police said. Cops: Man Turns Hostile When Westport Barista Refuses Free Coffee Demand WESTPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport man began cursing and refused to leave a Westport Starbucks Tuesday, after baristas would not give him free coffee. Gary Hubina, 63, of Fairfield Avenue, became hostile and ignored a request for him to leave, using the bathroom instead at the Parker-Harding Plaza eatery, witnesses told police. When he did leave, he used profanity against staff and customers, witnesses said. Hubina was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and breach of peace. He was unable to post a $500 bond and was transported to court for arraignment on Wednesday.

Police: Brooklyn Man Found With Pound Of Pot In Speeding Car On I-95 WESTPORT, Conn. — A Brooklyn, N.Y., man faces drug charges after he was found with more than a pound of marijuana on I-95 on Friday, Westport police said. During the early morning hours, Cpl. Kevin Smith saw a vehicle traveling southbound at more than 20 mph over the speed limit, police said. Smith stopped the car at Exit 17 and, while speaking to the driver, he detected the smell of marijuana and called for a K-9 unit, police said.
