Stratford Couple Charged After Child, 2, Found Wandering The Streets STRATFORD, Conn. — Two Stratford parents were arrested Oct. 6, after a jogger found their two-year-old child wandering the streets at 6:30 a.m., police said. Thomas Yemm, 62, and Wendy Canfield, 51, were each charged with risk of injury to a minor, police said. The child was taken in by a neighbor until police arrived. According to neighbors interviewed by officers, this is not the first time the child has wandered off, police said. The child was placed in the care of the Department of Children and Families. A motorist reported the white 2001 Chevy Silverado weaving over the double yellow line near the intersection of Cross and Sturges highways and then hitting the stone wall around 4:30 p.m., police said.
