Shelton Police: Convicted Rapist Failed To Register As Sex Offender SHELTON, Conn. — A 64-year-old Shelton man was arrested Oct. 6 on charges of not adding his name to the state’s sex offender registry as required, police said. David Pollitt, of River Road, was charged with failure to register as a sex offender after he moved back to Connecticut from Georgia, police said. In the 1980s, Pollitt was sentenced to 45 years in prison for a series of rapes in the New London and Rocky Hill areas, according to the Connecticut Post. He was released after serving 24 years in prison, the Post said. Pollitt has a lifetime registration requirement, police said.
