Survivors Encourage Support For Annual Breast Cancer Walk In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Bridgeport city officials, survivors and their supporters gathered Tuesday to kick off the second annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, encouraging others to participate in and donate to the fundraiser. Candlelight Vigil For Las Vegas Victims Planned For Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. — CT Against Gun Violence will hold a candlelight vigil Wednesday to honor the victims of the Las Vegas mass shooting. Fairfield Cops: Ex-Con Shoplifter Tries To Flee In Strangers' Cars FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Stratford woman with prior convictions for armed robbery and burglary was arrested Friday after she attempted to steal jewelry from a Tunxis Hill department store, police said. Fairfield Police: Ford Mustang, Kona Bike Stolen Last Week FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Police reported a car and a bike stolen in the last few days. A locked 2004 Ford Mustang was stolen from the Nutmeg Bowl lot on Villa Avenue sometime between Sept. 27 and Sept. 30, police said. The car was valued at $3,5000. A Kona bike valued at $500 was stolen from the north side of the Fairfield Metro train station between 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The owner told police the white bike with blue and red decals was securely locked to a bike rack.

Fairfield Police: Man Turns Self In For Second Break-In In One Night FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Shelton man on Friday turned himself in to police who say he broke into the scale house at the town transfer station in June. Todd Conley, 35, of Howe Avenue, had already turned himself in Tuesday for a similar burglary the same night at Spic & Span Market in Southport. In that incident, police said Conley stole 10 cartons of cigarettes valued at $2,160. Both incidents occurred on June 2 between 1:20 and 2:15 a.m. Police believe Conley used a concrete curb to smash the window at the One Rod Highway scale house, where there might have been a small amount of cash. Fairfield Police: Woman Says She Trespassed For Favorite Smokes FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield woman was arrested for trespassing Saturday after she went to a store she’d been warned to stay away from because they carry the brand of cigarettes she likes, police said. Fairfield Police: Woman Hit By Car Sent To Hospital With Serious Injuries FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A woman was seriously injured Monday morning when she was hit by a car in a Kings Highway East parking lot, police said. The driver said she didn’t see the woman walking near Bed, Bath & Beyond because of the sun’s glare in her eyes, police said.
