Stratford Woman Hit By Van Faces Reckless Pedestrian Charge in Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Stratford woman was charged with reckless use of a highway by a pedestrian early Monday, when she darted out into the street outside a Kings Highway East hookah lounge, police said. Police had been called to the scene shortly after 1 a.m. on reports of a man passed out in a car in the parking lot at Sky Hookah Lounge and were attending to that case when the woman was struck. Fairfield Police Reports Suspicious Gym Bag To State Bomb Squad FAIRFIELD, Conn. — In the wake of the Dallas sniper attack on police officers last week, Fairfield police took no chances when they noticed an unattended bike with a suspicious gym bag hanging on the handlebars of a bike parked outside their Reef Road police headquarters Saturday. The department called the State Police Bomb Squad just after 10 a.m., when police noticed the bike leaning against a brick wall out of view of surveillance cameras, police said. Police: Teens Steal Golf Cart, Lead Officers On Chase In Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Two 17-year-olds are facing larceny charges after they stole a groundskeeper’s cart from a Fairfield par 3 golf course, managing to keep it for a couple of days before being caught by officers on Friday night, police said. Fairfield Police: Trumbull Man Faked Being Hit By Car FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Trumbull man who called 911 to claim he was hit by a car in May was arrested Friday for staging the incident, police said. Police: Stamford Man Stole Red Bull, Monster From Westport Store WESTPORT, Conn. — Westport police traveled to Wallingford Monday to serve a warrant on a Stamford man accused of stealing energy drinks from a Post Road store. Police said surveillance cameras caught Matthew Hernandez, 25, of Old Barn Road, and an accomplice stealing Red Bull and Monster drinks valued at $95.11 in November 2015. Hernandez was charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, police said. He posted a $2,500 bond and is expected to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on July 21.

Police: NJ Teen Walked Out Of Westport Store With Stolen Boots Worth $1,225 WESTPORT, Conn. — A New Jersey man was arrested on larceny charges after he stole a pair of boots from a Main Street store, Westport police said. Daniel Gatson, 18, of Elizabeth Street, Ridgefield, N.J., turned himself in to Westport Police on Monday after learning there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
