Ridgewood's 106th July Fourth Parade Celebrates National Parks
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- The 106th Annual Fourth of July Celebration parade in Ridgewood will honor the anniversary of the National Park Service. This year's parade theme of “America the Beautiful – "Celebrating 100 Years of our National Parks" — honors the passing of the Organic Act of 1916 originated by President Theodore Roosevelt and signed by President Woodrow Wilson. The celebration will also feature a flag raising, evening entertainment and fireworks. Click here for additional information on the celebration.

Norwalk Police Welcome Newest Officer
NORWALK, Conn. -- Officer Richard Seitz is the newest member of the Norwalk Department of Police Service. Seitz was sworn in on Monday, June 27 and will start police academy next week.

White Plains City School District Receives Finance Award
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Government Finance Officers Association awarded the White Plains City School District a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. Board President Rosemarie Eller presented the award to Fred Seiler, assistant superintendent for business, at the Board of Education's meeting June 13. The award is the highest recognition a district can achieve in the area of finance from the Government Finance Officers Association.

Pascack Road In Chestnut Ridge Awaits Repaving
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The Rockland County Highway Department will resurface Pascack Road in Chestnut Ridge on or about Friday. The portion from 521 Pascack Road to Scotland Hill Road is scheduled for resurfacing, weather permitting. Motorists can expect temporary closures and detours, with delays beginning at 7 a.m.

Suffern Man Threatens Ex-Wife, Police Say
SUFFERN, N.Y. -- An area man was arrested on charges of threatening his ex-wife, according to Suffern Police Department. The 42-year-old Suffern man was charged with criminal intent for the alleged threat, which was in violation of an order of protection against him. He was picked up by the Ramapo Police Department on charges of their own before being turned over to Suffern. Suffern police also recently charged an 18-year-old Montebello man with unlawful possession of marijuana after being stopped for a traffic violation on Ramapo Avenue. More Than 500 Dogs Expected For Putnam Kennel Club's Shows
CARMEL, N.Y. -- More than 500 dogs are expected at the annual AKC Putnam County Kennel Club All Breed Dog Shows on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23. Judges will evaluate how dogs meet the standard of their established breeds in the two conformation competitions. Obedience and rally trails will test the dogs' understanding of commands as they maneuver hurdles and retrieve items. Bridgeport Police Suspect Victim's Ex-Wife's Boyfriend In Shooting
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport Police suspect the current boyfriend of a recent shooting victim's ex-wife as the assailant, according to Connecticut Post. The victim was shot in the leg in the parking lot of Success Park at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, Connecticut Post said. Property Where Slain Weston Couple's Remains Were Found Enters Market
WESTON, Conn. -- The three-acre Weston property where the remains of Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin were found is currently on the market for $1.385 million, according to the Weston Forum. As previously reported, the remains of the Weston couple were found on the property on 89 Norfield Road after the property owner reported finding items that did not belong based on yard work being done at the time. Norwalk Police Department Recognizes Officers Of The Month
NORWALK, Conn. -- Officers Tony DePanfilis, Matt Nyquist and Jose Silva are the Norwalk Police Department's Officers of the Month for May 2016. All three were recognized for subduing a man armed with a knife after he threatened the officers' lives and refused commands to drop the weapon. They subdued him with a taser.
