Edward Harold Rogers Jr., 83, Of Pleasant Valley
PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. – Edward Harold Rogers Jr., a resident of Pleasant Valley, died Thursday, March 3. He was 83.Rogers attended Hyde Park schools. He had been employed by Eberhardt Builders for 25 years and the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery for 15 years before retiring.
He is survived by his son Harold and his wife, Jill Rogers, of Colorado; his daughter, Louisa Katzenberger, of Pleasant Valley; his grandchildren, Joseph and Sean Rogers, of Colorado; and Evelyn and Timothy Katzenberger of Pleasant Valley; and his sisters, Edna Houghtaling of Pleasant Valley and Joan Dykeman of Fishkill.

Michael Joseph Tavella, 89, Of Norwalk
NORWALK, Conn. – Michael Joseph Tavella, a resident of Norwalk, died Sunday, Feb. 28. He was 89.
Tavella worked as a custodian for the Norwalk Public Schools for more than 21 years, until his retirement in 1990. Prior to that, he worked at Spires Footwear and Styles Footwear for many years.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Philip Tavella Jr.; Richard Tavella; Jo-Ann Rogers and Richard Toetenil, all of Norwalk; Patricia Maiatico and Russel Sargent, of Trumbull; and Donna Scofield, of Florida.

LITTLE FERRY, N.J. – Sergio Passaro, a resident of Little Ferry, died Thursday, March 3. He was 91.
He was a former resident of Hoboken. Before retiring, he owned Tiara Coat Fashion in West New York. He was a member of UNICO in Rutherford and the Inner Circle Association in Hoboken.
He is survived by his wife, Chiara Passaro; his siblings, Tomasso Passaro; Anna Passari; Lina Passari; and many nieces and nephews.

Pavlos Kalmanidis, 75, Of Norwalk
NORWALK, Conn. – Pavlos Kalmanidis, a longtime resident of Norwalk, died Sunday, March 6. He was 75.
Kalmanidis was born in Spilia Kozani, Greece, on April 1, 1940. He served in the Greek military, where he was awarded multiple citations, including one for marksmanship, and received an honorable discharge. He was also drafted during the 1974 Cyprus conflict.
In 1995, he retired from Pepperidge Farm after 20 years of service. He was a member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church community and served on the Parish Council.

NORWALK, Conn. – Helen T. McGrath, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, died Saturday, March 5. She was 95.
McGrath worked as an accountant and was the principal’s secretary at Norwalk Central Catholic High School.
She is survived by her sister, Anne McDonough.
She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, at St. Matthews Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave., Norwalk. There will be no calling hours.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – William G. Rose, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, March 3. He was 69.
He is a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, Dutchess Community College and the former Krissler Business Institute. He was a therapy aide for the Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie and worked as a social worker assistant for HRPC at an off-site facility in Rhinebeck.
