PAWLING, N.Y. -- Lucy Etta Smith, a lifetime resident of Pawling, died Thursday, April 28. She was 86.Born July 27,1929, in Pawling, she was the daughter of Clifford and Isabel (Osborn) Ryea.
She worked at the L.A. 5 & 10 store in Pawling and did private home health care. She also was very active in the Pawling community, volunteering at the Pawling Resource and Service Center. She also worked every Pawling Fire Department carnival in the soft drink booth.
She was a past commander of the Hasler-Kamp Post American Legion Auxiliary, and sold hundreds of poppies for the legion. She also …

GARFIELD, N.J. -- Isabella Rotolo, a resident of Sussex and formerly of Garfield, died Friday, April 29. She was 92.Before retiring, she was a seamstress for the I.L.G.W.U. She also was a member of the Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Franklin.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Alfred King, a lifelong Croton-on-Hudson resident, died Tuesday, April 26. He was 92.
He was born Aug.19,1923, to John and Bertha King in Croton-on-Hudson.
He was a graduate of Croton-Harmon High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a torepedo man aboard the USS Thomas from 1942-45. On July 4,1944, he and his comrades rescued 12 German soldiers from the water.
He was a brakeman for the New York Central Railroad, Penn Central Railroad and Metro-North Railroad for 42 years.
