OLD TAPPAN, N.J. -- Janis Lee Selman, a resident of Old Tappan, died Thursday, May 5. She was 69.She was born Aug.2,1946, in Topeka, Kan., to the late Norma and Jack Roder.
In the early 2000s, she took up sculpture and became admired for her skill in creating life-like busts. Upon seeing her work for the first time, most people were amazed by her ability to transcend her affliction. She also became known for her imaginative, original gifts that she would bestow on family, friends, doctors and shopkeepers. PARK RIDGE, N.J. -- The Rev. Monsignor Carl Derivaux Hinrichsen, a resident of Park Ridge, died Tuesday, May 3. He was 94.Born Nov. 6,1921, in Newark, he attended St. Benedict’s Prep. Class of 1939. He then attended Princeton University, graduating from an accelerated program in January 1943 with a degree in economics. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 1942 and after completing officer training school, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant and was sent to study German at the University of Missouri.

NEWTOWN, Conn. — Robert A. Myer, a resident of Newtown and a Westport police officer, died Wednesday, May 4. He was 48.
He was born on Sept.11, 1967, in Norwalk, to James and Evelyn Link Myer.
He had been a resident of Newtown for the past 11 years. He grew up in Westport and was a graduate of Staples High School and Sacred Heart University. He served the Westport community, his hometown, for more than 23 years as a member of the Westport Police Department.

WALLINGTON, N.J. -- Michael Fedorchak Jr., a resident of Wallington, died Sunday, May 1. He was 72.He was born on Aug.5, 1943, to Helen (Lyos) and Michael Fedorchak Sr.
He served in the U.S. Army and was in Vietnam in 1965.
Upon returning from Vietnam he got a job with Ford and worked there for 13 years. When Ford closed the Edison plant, he went to work, as a welder, for Falstrom Company in Passaic Park, where he retired, just under 25 years.

CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. -- Bernice H. Maclver, a resident of Cliffside Park, died Thursday, April 28. She was 92. She was the daughter of the late Bernard J. Harvey and Edna Harvey.
She is survived by her son, Lloyd Maclver.
She was predeceased by her husband, Murdo Maclver.
