Port Chester Felon Gets 3 Years In Prison For Stamford Gun Arrest
STAMFORD, Conn. -- A convicted drug felon from New York found guilty of illegally possessing a loaded Glock .45-caliber pistol in Stamford was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison. Juan Quinones, 43, of Port Chester, will also have three years of supervised release following his imprisonment, said Dieirdre Daly, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut. Former Bridgeport Principal Pays Restitution After Gambling Funds
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Theft charges against Bridgeport’s former Dunbar School principal have been dismissed because she’s met the terms of her pre-trial probation, according to the Connecticut Post. Marilyn Taylor, now living in Georgia, paid restitution of the more than $10,000 she gambled from her students’ activity funds, according to the Connecticut Post. A Board of Education audit discovered Taylor made multiple withdrawals for casino trips in 2013 and 2014 and was subsequently charged with first-degree larceny, according to the Connecticut Post. Pedestrian Cited After Getting Struck By Jeep In Stamford
STAMFORD, Conn. — A man struck by a car near Stamford Twin Rinks in Springdale was issued a summons for ignoring a pedestrian control signal, according to the Stamford Advocate. Stamford Police said the victim was crossing against the signal and was struck by a Jeep turning left from Hope Street onto Camp Avenue, according to the Stamford Advocate. DARIEN, Conn. -- A bar fight broke out at Chez Ernies on Sunday, leaving a man with a cut face and a suspect who slipped out the back door, according to the Darien Times. A 51-year-old man was struck in the face by a glass and another was punched in the face, both by someone believed to be a regular customer who possibly goes by the name Chris, according to the Darien Times. RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Saturday's snow storm was the season's official start to an innovative program that offers Rutherford seniors help during the winter. Shovel Our Seniors (SOS) matches senior residents with volunteer shovelers so their winter cleanup needs will be met anytime an inch or more of snow falls. OLD TAPPAN, N.J. -- Holidays for the U.S. Troops will be a little bit brighter thanks to the generosity of the Old Tappan Scouts. Old Tappan Cub Scout Pack 132 presented the military with a care package on Dec. 12 when the U. S. Army came to speak with the boys about their experiences and jobs. She was born on Jan. 17, 1927 to Marianna Gelina and Freddy Lambert of Macamic Quebec Canada.
