Sign Up For Swim Classes At Lyndhurst Community Pool
LYNDHURST, N.J. -- Registration for swim lessons are now underway in Lyndhurst. The Lyndhurst Parks Department is now accepting registrations for the April-June session of Swim America lessons at the Lyndhurst Community Pool. Classes will be offered on Saturdays at 9:30 and 10:15 a.m. April 23-June 18. Classes are open to swimmers ages 4-14, residents and non-residents. Click here to register. Garfield Rotary Club Mentors Teens
GARFIELD, N.J. -- Teens in Garfield explored various job opportunities at a career day sponsored by the Garfield Rotary Club on Thursday. Along with the YMCA and library, five members of the Rotary Club spoke about how they became successful at their respective careers, along with some failures and successes along the way. Students had the opportunity to sign up to shadow Rotary Club members for a week in April to learn more about their line of work. FORT LEE, N.J. -- Three new public parks are opening soon in Fort Lee.Mayor Mark Sokolich said acquisition of the parks is at no cost to taxpayers and include, A one-acre passive public park at the corner of Main Street and Lemoine Avenue in the downtown district. Oakland, Wyckoff Mayors Talk Mental Health In Allendale
MAHWAH, N.J. — The Northwest Mayors Association is having a discussion on mental health awareness on Saturday, March 12 in Allendale. Representatives from area municipalities are invited to participate in the discussion to further efforts to bring awareness about mental health issues, including depression, alcoholism and addiction. Championship Mahwah Football Team Holds Team Ring Ceremony
MAHWAH, N.J. -- The championship football team ring ceremony for Mahwah was held Tuesday at Seasons Catering in Washington Township. Two-time Super Bowl winner Leonard Marshall spoke to players and families at the event. He also gave Mahwah Mayor Bill Laforet a championship ring. Mahwah went 11-1 and defeated Glen Rock 38-13 on Dec. 4 at MetLife Stadium to win the North 1, Group II state sectional title.

Danbury Man Sentenced To 16 Years In Federal Prison For Home Invasions
DANBURY, Conn. -- A Danbury man was sentenced to 16 years in federal prison on Thursday for orchestrating a series of violent home invasion robberies of illegal drugs and drug trafficking proceeds, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut Deirdre M. Daly said. Marlon Patterson, also known as “Head,” 32, of Danbury, has been detained since his arrest on Oct. 16, 2013. Passaic County, N.J. -- Schools in Passaic County were among the recipients of 83 grants distributed by the Community Foundation of New Jersey and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.
