Stroke Survivor Sees Improvement With Putnam Hospital Center Speech Therapy
CARMEL, N.Y. – A former Putnam Hospital employee has discovered a new lease on life following a stroke and seizure disorder that left her unable to speak.Lorna Armbruster continued speech therapy and has seen great improvement not only in speaking but in writing, reading and recall. “I’m trying to show how this (speech therapy) really helps people,” said Armbruster, who formerly worked at Putnam Hospital Center as the assistant director of nursing for surgical services. WEST MILFORD, N.J. -- The West Milford Farmer's Market opens June 1 in the parking lot of the West Milford Presbyterian Church.This year’s market vendors include old favorites and many new offerings. RAMSEY, N.J. -- A bike skills and safety program takes place in Ramsey on Friday, June 10 at the municipal pool parking lot.The Ramsey Bike Rodeo is for ages 5-15. Closter To Rededicate Vietnam War Memorial
CLOSTER, N.J. — A ceremony rededicating the Closter Vietnam Memorial to Lt. Donald A. Mollicone, will be held on Sunday in the park that bears his name. Mollicone, a Closter native, was 26 when he sacrificed his life in the Vietnam War in 1963. The park was named for him in 1969. Eagle Scout Jason Lee, 17 recently refurbished the memorial as his Eagle Scout Project. Three new commemorative kiosks, a flagpole and a walk-in area for visitors to view the kiosks, are major elements of the memorial.
