Paul Milo has worked as a reporter in northern New Jersey for more than 20 years, first for North Jersey Media Group / NorthJersey.com, then at Patch.com and at NJ.com / The Star-Ledger. He has written about a 106-year-old World War I veteran, the Sept. 11 attacks and a 15-year-old stock manipulator who was the youngest person ever civilly charged by the Securities and Exchange Commission, among many other stories. He has interviewed governors, presidential candidates and celebrities including Ryan Seacrest and comedian Kevin Hart.

In addition to his work for New Jersey-based outlets, he has also written for BeliefNet, Editor and Publisher, The Huffington Post, The Boston Globe and other publications, as well as freelance assignments for global chemical company BASF.

His first book, Your Flying Car Awaits, was published by HarperCollins in 2010. As part of the book’s promotional efforts he was interviewed by The New York Times and on WNYC radio’s The Brian Lehrer Show

Jersey City Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Minor A 60-year-old Jersey City man faces charges of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with an incident reported to law enforcement Tuesday, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.  Josue Rodriguez was arrested Tuesday night following the incident at Templo Refugio on 3rd Street in Jersey City, according to authorities.  The victim was described only as a juvenile female. Family And Friends Mourn Cathelina Reyes Of Newark, 23 Cathelina Reyes, a Newark mother who was working her way through Essex County College, died April 22. She was 23.  A graduate of Barringer High School, she was captain and a pitcher on the school's softball team. She was studying early childhood education at Essex County College.  Remembered for her "gentle smile," she is survived by daughter, Cathaleya; parents Jennifer and Franklin; her grandmother Maura and great-grandmother Dolores. She is also survived by siblings Ariel, Yorgi, Litzy and Alexis.  Arrangements were by Alvarez Funeral Home, Newark.

Several Homes Reportedly Damaged In Irvington Fire A fire that broke out on Franklin Place in Irvington early Wednesday morning damaged as many as 10 buildings, News 12 New Jersey reported.  The fire started around 2 a.m. in a vacant home and quickly spread to neighboring structures as well as cars.  There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire remained under investigation early Wednesday.  Ten people, including three people, have been displaced.

Person Struck And Killed By Train Near Penn Station In Newark A person described as a trespasser died after being hit by a train on the Northeast Corridor Line in Newark Tuesday afternoon, NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder said.  Train 3154 from New Brunswick was approaching Newark Penn Station around 3:50 p.m. when it hit the person, whose name, age and gender were not immediately released.  No one aboard the train was hurt. Passengers were immediately transferred to another train and there was no disruption in service.  NJ Transit police are investigating.

Commuter Gets Leg Stuck Between Train, Platform In Roselle Park A Roselle Park man sustained a serious leg injury after he slipped at the platform of the NJ Transit station in Roselle Park Tuesday morning, police said.  Police arrived around 7:45 a.m. and discovered the 54-year-old man, who said his leg had gotten wedged between the train and the platform as he was boarding.  He was taken to University Hospital in Newark.  The incident is under investigation by NJ Transit police. Roselle Park Chief of Police Daniel J. McCaffery said the cause "appeared to be accidental in nature."

Duo Charged In Series Of Vehicle Burglaries In Secaucus Two people were arrested early Tuesday and charged with 10 burglaries, most from parked vehicles, Capt. Dennis Miller of the Secaucus Police Department said in a statement.  Police received numerous complaints from residents in the North End section about burglaries occurring late Sunday night and early Monday morning, Miller said. Teens Dump Drinks On Store Clerk In Bayonne Robbery, Police Say Two juveniles from Jersey City attacked a convenience store clerk during a robbery Monday night, Lt. Eric Amato of the Bayonne Police Department said in a statement.  A 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl entered the 7-Eleven at 765 Broadway around 9 p.m. and began placing merchandise in bags they'd brought in with them, the clerk later told police.
