State Funds Spell Flood Relief For Hundreds In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The owners of about 500 North End homes and businesses should see an end to years of persistent flooding, thanks to $5.14 million in state funding to rehabilitate an existing, abandoned dam. Three City Residents Injured In Early Morning Car Crash In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Alcohol and speed played a factor in an early morning car crash on North Washington Avenue Tuesday that sent three Bridgeport residents to the hospital, according to city Communications Director Rowena White. Police: Man Suspected In Multiple Area Burglaries Arrested In Shelton SHELTON, Conn. — An Oakville man who is a suspect in several burglaries in the area was arrested Sunday after police say he stole snow blowers and commercial equipment from a Bridgeport Avenue business. Michael Petro, 45, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny, police said. He was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.
