Westport Announces Annual Fireworks Show Ticket Sales WESTPORT, Conn. — The big show is more than a month away, but tickets go on sale today for the town’s annual fireworks display. Westport PAL announced that Melissa and Doug Berstein of Melissa & Doug, LLC will again sponsor the event on Monday, July 3. The rain date is July 5. The first family of fireworks, the storied Gruccis, will create the 61st annual fireworks show. Fairfield Police responded to the Kings Highway East store on a report of a shoplifting in progress and were able to see an image of the man, who was caught on surveillance video, police said. Akram Enany, 54, of Knapps Highway, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, after his wife hit him and he struck her with the back of his hand, police said.
