Westport Announces Annual Fireworks Show Ticket Sales WESTPORT, Conn. — The big show is more than a month away, but tickets go on sale today for the town’s annual fireworks display. Westport PAL announced that Melissa and Doug Berstein of Melissa & Doug, LLC will again sponsor the event on Monday, July 3. The rain date is July 5. The first family of fireworks, the storied Gruccis, will create the 61st annual fireworks show. Tickets may be purchased at the Westport Police Department, 50 Jesup Road, and the Westport Parks and Recreation office, 260 Compo Road South. Have You Seen Him? Fairfield Police Searching For Blender Bandit FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Police are looking for a man who spent two hours in Bed, Bath & Beyond on May 25 before running out of the emergency exit with two Vitamin blenders valued at $480 each. Fairfield Police responded to the Kings Highway East store on a report of a shoplifting in progress and were able to see an image of the man, who was caught on surveillance video, police said. Police Called For Combative Couple in Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield man was arrested Friday afternoon after he and his wife got into a day-long fight that ended up getting physical, police said. Akram Enany, 54, of Knapps Highway, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, after his wife hit him and he struck her with the back of his hand, police said. She showed signs of swelling and redness, but Enany did not appear to be injured, officers said. The wife was given a misdemeanor summons for disorderly conduct. Fairfield Cops: Known Shoplifters Run Off With Stolen Sneaks FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Members of a statewide shoplifting ring snatched pricey Nike sneakers from a Post Road shoe store on May 22, police said. Around 1:50 p.m., a man walked into DSW with a suit jacket over his arm, concealing a shopping bag underneath it, the store manager, who recognized the men, told police. Police Called For Domestic Dispute At Fairfield Restaurant FAIRFIELD, Conn. — An East Haven man received a misdemeanor summons early Sunday after he fought with his girlfriend inside a Sanford Street restaurant and continued the argument outside after they were asked to leave, police said. Fairfield Police: Woman Loses $6,750 Watch In School Bathroom FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield woman lost her $6,750 watch when she left it behind after changing clothes in a town elementary school restroom earlier this month, police said Tuesday. The woman, 34, took off her Santos de Cartier Galbee watch to get changed in the bathroom at Burr School on May 9. New York Man Faces Strangulation Charge In Fairfield Assault FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Woodside, N.Y., man faces strangulation and assault charges after he attacked his wife at her Fairfield home Sunday, police said.
