Look Up, Fairfield! Two Bird Attacks Reported In Town FAIRFIELD, Conn. — No one’s spotted Alfred Hitchcock in Fairfield, but there were two bird attacks reported in town Friday, police said. A Sturges Road woman called police around 12:30 p.m. to report that her husband needed medical attention to his scalp after he was attacked by what appeared to be a bird of prey. An officer responding to the scene said he was menaced by what he believes was the same bird, police said. Bridgeport Pledges $1 Million To Put Community Policing In Public Housing BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A new community policing initiative will mean an immediate, permanent police presence and future tenant patrols, youth groups and security enhancements at all city public housing complexes, Mayor Joseph Ganim announced Monday. The Community Policing Task Force includes two sergeants and 16 officers, who will be deployed over two, eight-hour shifts each day. The officers will patrol inside the buildings and around the grounds and form partnerships with tenants.
