Fairfield Police Arrested Mom On Charges Of Swearing At 6-Year-Old FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield woman was arrested Friday after a school official told police that the woman was yelling profanities at her 6-year-old daughter, police said. Helen Bambus, 39, of Stephens Lane, was charged with risk of injury, impairing the morals of a child and breach of peace in the Feb. 16 incident, police said. She was arrested on $25,000 warrant while appearing in court on different charges, police said. She was arraigned on the new charges Friday, police said.

Ganim: City To Invest In East Side Housing Complex In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim and the developers of Crescent Crossings, a mixed housing development on the East Side, on Thursday announced a financial agreement that will pave the way for phase two of the much-anticipated project. In lieu of a 35-year tax abatement the developers had sought under previous Mayor Bill Finch’s administration, the city will invest $1.25 million in capital funds in 2016 with another $700,000 next year.
