Man Charged With Drunken Driving At Fairfield University's Entrance FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A New Jersey man was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol on April 3, when Fairfield University public safety pulled him over at the school’s North Benson Road entrance, police said. Peter Jones, 26, of Oak Ridge Avenue, Summit, was stopped at about 1 a.m., police said. Fairfield police were called to the scene, and Jones failed field sobriety tests, police said. He posted $40 bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 12, police said.

Bridgeport Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Sacred Heart Student BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport man was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexually assaulting a Sacred Heart University student at his Scofield Avenue home on March 30, police said. Alfonso Reid, 39, was taken into custody without incident at his home at about 6:30 a.m., police said. He was charged with first-degree sexual assault and was held on $750,000 bond, police said. Reid is alleged to have taken the 19-year-old woman to his home, where he sexually assaulted her, according to police. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, police said.
