Rocco Garrone, 85, Paramus Resident
PARAMUS, N.J. -- Rocco Garrone, of Paramus, died on Saturday, Jan. 21. He ws 85.Before he retired, Garrone worked for Tuscan Dairy, in Union. He was a member of American Legion Post 170, a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, and a volunteer with the church's Helping Hands Ministry, all in Rochelle Park.
He was also an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Garrone is survived by his children, Robert Garrone and his wife Allyson, and Rocco Garrone and his wife Rosalie, and his grandchildren, Lauren, Robert, Rocco and Christopher.

Raymond Ortuno, 83, Teaneck Resident
TEANECK, N.J. -- Raymond Ortuno, of Teaneck, died on Thursday, Jan. 19. He was 83.Ortuno was a 35-year member of the National Guard, a Boy Scout leader and a 25,000-hour volunteer at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Ridgewood.

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Helen (Waraske) Beshlian, of Elmwood Park, died on Friday, Jan. 13. She was 97. Born and raised in Paterson, Beshlian was "a faithful member of Van Riper-Ellis-Broadway Baptist Church where she was blessed to enjoy decades of sweet fellowship," information from the funeral home notes. "She enjoyed spending winters in Florida, entertaining and playing bridge."
In her earlier years, she was a licensed beautician and managed a beauty salon. She was also a licensed real estate agent.

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Daniel A. Lesko, of Elmwood Park, died on Friday, Jan. 20. He was 85. Born in Passaic, he’s been a resident of Elmwood Park for the past 50 years. He worked for Bell Atlantic in Newark for 23 years, retiring in 1996. Prior to Bell Atlantic, he worked for Curtis Wright in Elmwood Park for 17 years.
He was a Korean War Veteran and a member of VFW Post 5084 in Elmwood Park.
Lesko is survived by his wife, Winifred (Gilday); children Daniel Lesko and Susan Yamroz; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Vivian Szczepanczyk, of Saddle Brook, died on Thursday, Jan. 19. She was 92. Born and raised in Rome, Szczepanczyk immigrated to the U.S. in 1951, settling in Paterson before moving to Saddle Brook. She was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Saddle Brook and a former parishioner of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Paterson.

Robert W. Forsyth Jr., 75, Longtime Wyckoff Resident
WYCKOFF, N.J. -- Robert W. Forsyth Jr., of Wyckoff, died on Saturday, Dec. 31. He was 75. Forsyth grew up in Hackensack and River Edge, and he's lived in Wyckoff for the past 30 years. He served in the Marine Corps as a captain, and he was a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War.
He then went on to be a pilot with TWA for 35 years, before he retired.
Forsyth is survived by his sons, Jeffrey and Andrew; fiancé Selma Alaimo; and siblings Bonnie Shallcross, Laura Mullen, James Forsyth and Ellen Johnson.

George Brueck, 74, Harrington Park Resident
HARRINGTON PARK, N.J. -- George Brueck, of Harrington Park, died on Jan. 19. He was 74.Born in New York City to German immigrants, Brueck was a graduate of New York University. He was a veteran of the Army during the Berlin Crisis of 1961, and he had a 35-year career as a manager with the New York Telephone company.
He was a lifetime member of the Harrington Park Ambulance Corps, where he volunteered as a captain, as well as an ambulance driver. While still working, he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, where he served for 15 years as a member of the team of "Greyheads."
