Road Reopens After Construction Vehicle Overturns In Yonkers This story has been updated.  A busy road in Westchester County has reopened to traffic after closing when a construction vehicle overturned in the street.  On Tuesday, Nov. 3 around 9:45 a.m., Yonkers Police announced that Central Park Avenue northbound (Route 100) at Fort Hill Avenue was closed to traffic after a construction vehicle flipped over, spilling dirt on the roadway.  The road has reopened as of 11 a.m., and the truck and debris have been removed, according to Yonkers city officials.

Lane Closure To Affect Section Of Route 9 In Peekskill Commuters are being warned that an upcoming lane closure is planned for a section of a busy road in Northern Westchester.  On Thursday, Nov. 3, and Friday, Nov. 4 between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., one lane of US Route 9 northbound will close in Peekskill between Welcher Avenue and Louisa Street, according to the New York Department of Transportation.  The lane closure is to allow for construction work on the roadway, officials said.

North Castle Man Sentenced For Sexual Conduct With Child A man from Northern Westchester has been sentenced for subjecting a child to sexual abuse.  44-year-old Jorge Lazo Achahui of North Castle was sentenced to 15 years in state prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release, Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah announced on Wednesday, Nov. 2.  Achahui pled guilty to subjecting a 12-year-old victim to sexual intercourse numerous times between March 2020 and July 2020 on Wednesday, Sept. 28, Rocah said.  North Castle Police arrested Achahui on Feb. 6, 2021, following an investigation into his …
