Man Charged With Stealing More Than $50K In Cash, Checks From Vehicle In In Yorktown Police have charged a New York City man who was apprehended upstate with stealing more than $50,000 from a vehicle parked at a Northern Westchester County business. On Saturday, Oct. 15, at around 3:30 p.m., police were called to a business in Yorktown on Saw Mill River Road to investigate a report from a victim that $42,000 in cash and $10,000 in payroll checks had been stolen from their parked vehicle, according to Yorktown Police. Propane Truck Rolls Over Into Embankment In Hudson Valley A propane truck tipped over into an embankment in the Hudson Valley, causing a short road closure. Road Reopens After Construction Vehicle Overturns In Yonkers This story has been updated. A busy road in Westchester County has reopened to traffic after closing when a construction vehicle overturned in the street. On Tuesday, Nov. 3 around 9:45 a.m., Yonkers Police announced that Central Park Avenue northbound (Route 100) at Fort Hill Avenue was closed to traffic after a construction vehicle flipped over, spilling dirt on the roadway. Lane Closure To Affect Section Of Route 9 In Peekskill Commuters are being warned that an upcoming lane closure is planned for a section of a busy road in Northern Westchester. On Thursday, Nov. 3, and Friday, Nov. 4 between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., one lane of US Route 9 northbound will close in Peekskill between Welcher Avenue and Louisa Street, according to the New York Department of Transportation. The lane closure is to allow for construction work on the roadway, officials said.
