Longshore Golf Course Prepares To Reopen Ahead Of Spring WESTPORT, Conn. -- Longshore Golf Course will open Friday, March 18, according to the Westport News. Longshore golf superintendent Michael Golden said the course looks healthy and in the best shape possible as it's set to open two days before the official start of spring, the Westport News reported. Middle School Kids Will Take Over Brookfield YMCA BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Middle School Madness will take over the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut in Brookfield on Saturday, March 19.  The Y will stay open late exclusively for students in fifth through eighth grades for a pool party, open gym and music, basketball and bounce house. Middle School Madness ensues from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Greenknoll Branch at 2 Huckleberry Hill Road in Brookfield.  Admission is $10 for Y Members and $15 for non-members.

Hart Library Discusses 'Valiant Female Patriots' YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Yorktown Historical Society will celebrate Women's History Month with "Valiant Female Patriots" at J.C. Hart Library on March 17. Monica Doherty, Yorktown Historical Society Board Member, will lead the free program about Deborah Sampson, Margaret Cochran Corbin, Mary Ludwig Hays, Sybil Ludington and Anna Strong.  The five women unrelated women served their country patriotically during the American Revolutionary War. Mahopac Marina Offers Free Boater Safety Class MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Mahopac Marina will offer a Boater Safety class on Saturday, March 19.  Anyone over the age of 14 operating a personal watercraft and motorboat operators born on or after May 1, 1996, are required to have the certificate obtained through the class.  The class is free, but participants 18 and over must mail their temporary receipt with a $10 check after course completion.
