Darien YMCA Gymnastics Team Hosts First Emily Fedorko Challenge DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien YMCA gymnastics team honored a former teammate who died in a 2014 boating accident at the first annual Emily Fedorko Challenge.  Coach Nicole Kapitan read a tribute to Emily's memory at the start of each of the meet sessions. Emily's mother, Pam Fedorko, addressed the gymnasts and their families to thank them for supporting the Emily Fedorko Foundation. She encouraged everyone to do as Emily would have done: smile and have fun. The team competed by level and age group and swept the team titles from Levels 3 to 10. Police: Danbury Woman Arrested For Slapping Two Officers DANBURY, Conn. -- A Danbury woman was arrested for allegedly slapping two police officers and two other people, according to The News-Times. Police allege Erica Droz, 30, slapped two victims at the Kennedy Avenue station shortly after 3 p.m. Friday afternoon during a screaming tirade, The News-Times reported.  Droz allegedly did not cooperate with responding officers and slapped two in the face, said The News-Times. Danbury Firefighters Rescue Teen After Excavator Crash DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury firefighters rescued a teenager after an excavator he was operating knocked down a utility poll, according to The News-Times.  The 16-year-old crashed into a utility pole on Center Street Saturday morning, and the excavator was draped in telephone, cable and high-voltage power lines, The News-Times reported.  He was unharmed and later released to his father, The News-Times said.
