GLEN ROCK, N.J. – Adrienne Ainbender, a resident of Glen Rock, died Monday, April 18. She was 79.
She grew up in the Bronx, N.Y. and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School at 16. She also graduated from Cornell University in 1957, and pursued a career as a computer programmer. She lived in New York until 1976, when she moved to her adopted hometown of Glen Rock. She supported many charitable causes to benefit endangered species.
She is survived by her daughter, Anissa Ainbender and her husband, Sean Hamlin; and grandchildren, Eden and Megan Hamlin.

LYNDHURST, N.J. -- Josephine A. Mazza, a resident of Lyndhurst, died Tuesday, April 19. She was 88.She was raised in Jersey City before moving to Lyndhurst. Although she lived in Bergen County for 60 years, she read the Jersey Journal every day since 1956.

She was born on June 15,1942, in Yonkers, to Charles and Marjorie Bell.

PAWLING, N.Y. -- Jay E. Sherlach, a resident of Pawling, died Saturday, April 16. He was 88.Born Joseph E. Kirby on Dec. 18, 1927, he was the son of Katherine Kirby. Upon his mother’s deah, he took the name of his adoptive father Stuart Sherlach.
He served in the Korean War for two years. As a result of the G.I. Bill, he earned his master’s degree in education, becoming a teacher in Westchester. He started his teaching career in Scarsdale, N.Y., with several positions throughout Westchester. In 1964, he became the principal at Pawling Elementary School, a position he held for 20 years.
