Great Pumpkin Festival Rises At Stratford's Boothe Memorial Park
STRATFORD, Conn. -- Costumes ranged from the downright cute to the outright scary as crowds turned out to celebrate Halloween with the Great Pumpkin Festival at Boothe Memorial Park in Stratford last Saturday.
For over two decades, Stratford has celebrated autumn with the event.
The festivities last weekend offered something fun for all ages, including a children's costume parade with prizes, DJ music, games, crafts, face painting, refreshments, a pie-baking contest, a scarecrow judging contest, four moon-bounces, horse-drawn hayrides, and much more.

Celebrate Shelton Dishes Up Music, Food And Fun For All
SHELTON, Conn. -- Residents hit the streets Sunday for Celebrate Shelton, enjoying the vendors, shops, food and entertainment set up downtown along Howe Avenue on a gray fall day.
Celebrate Shelton is a citywide initiative focusing on small businesses and the community that surrounds them.
“This was really something nice to come to. I am new to Shelton, so it was a great way to meet the people in my town,” said Brenda Thomason.
It was started in 2014 by small business owners Michael Skrtic, of The Glass Source, Nicole Heriot-Mikula, of bringtheHoopla as well as Jimmy Tickey.

Plasko's Farm In Trumbull Stuffs In The Fall Fun At Scarecrow Festival
TRUMBULL, Conn. -- The weekend weather was wet and chilly, but that didn't dampen the fall fun at Plasko's Farm in Trumbull, as they kicked off their annual Scarecrow Festival.
Each year, the farm holds the festival, which draws "so many people, you have to fight for parking, just to get in," says John Plasko, owner of Plasko's Farm.
The festival features activities such as make your own scarecrow, games, crafters, community booths, pumpkins, fall decor, music, and food.
