BEACON, N.Y. -- Joan Gregor, a resident of Beacon and formerly of Brooklyn, died Thursday, May 12. She was 75.Born March 11, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William and Amelia Butler.
She had been employed as an assistant teacher at the Wishing Well in Brooklyn until her retirement.

Theodore A. Cruz, 69, Of Brookfield
Theodore A. Cruz, a resident of Brookfield, Connecticut, died Wednesday, May 11. He was 69.He is formerly of Stormville. Born June 29, 1946, in Yonkers, N.Y., he was the son of the late Theodore and Marie Cruz.
He served in the U.S. Army, and received the Army Commendation Medal for the time he spent in Vietnam. He was a Quality Control Manager for the Maxwell House division of Kraft Foods in Tarrytown, where he worked for 43 years until his retirement in 2008. He was a former member of the Hopewell Reformed Church. He was a certified Coffee Grader for the NYBOT.

PAWLING, N.Y. -- Hunter Miles Karen, a resident of Pawling and formerly of Liberty, died Tuesday, May 10. He was 19.Born March 2, 1997, in the state of Washington, he was the son of Hal Karen and the late Tammy Lynn (Sapin) Karen. He attended Liberty schools and in 2015 graduated from Trinity-Pawling School, where he was a member of the squash, baseball and soccer teams. He attended Michigan State University and was a member of the AEPI fraternity.

BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- Emil G. Abraham, a resident of Bergenfield, died Friday, May 13. He was 81.He was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Bergenfield.

PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- Maria Knaus, a resident of Pearl River, died Thursday, May 12. She was 91.Born Nov. 30, 1924 in Stockendorf, Gottschee, Slovenia, she was the daughter of Mathias and Mary Schmuck.
She emigrated to Austria and then to Ridgewood, N.Y., in 1950 and had resided in Pearl River for the past 59 years. Locally, she was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the Blessed Mother Sodality.
