James Benson, 72, Of Poughkeepsie
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- James Benson, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, Jan. 29. He was 72.He was born in Highland , N.Y., to James F. Benson and Joan Geenan Benson.
Benson was a longtime teacher at Vassar Road School in Poughkeepsie for 37 years, retiring in 2005.

Frederick E. LaMere, 81, Of Wappingers Falls
WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- Frederick E. LaMere, a resident of Wappingers Falls, died Friday, Jan. 29. He was 81.LeMere was born in Ogdensburg, N.Y., on April 29, 1934, to Charles and Katherine Graveline LaMere.
La Mere worked as an accountant for IBM in Poughkeepsie for many years. Later in life he was a home health aide and took care of several people at his home and their residences. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1953-56. He was a communicant of St. Joachim Church.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Elizabeth LaMere.
Visitation is Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.…

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Charlotte E. Feringa, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, Jan. 29. She was 91.She was born in Buffalo, on June 1, 1924, to Harry and Stella Koblinski Churchill.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Mittelstaedt and her husband Charles of Salt Point; and Constance Pendergast and her husband Charles of Staatsburgh; her sons, Charles Feringa and his wife Barbara of Poughkeepsie; and Larry Feringa and his wife Linda of Plattekill; her sister, Mary Kay Snell of Hyde Park; 16 grandchildren; and several great and great- great grandchildren.

BLOOMINGDALE, N.J. -- A Bloomingdale lover of animals, volunteer and animal rescue professional, is seeking donations for an animal foundation she launched. Lysa Delaurentis, an animal rescuer with All Humane Animal Rescue, Inc., is seeking donations.
Needed items include cleaning supplies, dog food, cat food, kitty litter, blankets, towels, dog chews, kitten treats and more.
