He was 91.He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. Services Set For Tim Murphy, Retired Norwalk Police Lieutenant NORWALK, Conn. – Former Norwalk Police Lt. Tim Murphy, a New Canaan native, died Friday, Jan. 29, at his home in Florida. In late February 2015, Murphy retired from his job at the Norwalk Police Department after 33 years of service, and days later was diagnosed with stage-4 cancer.  The wake will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk.
