Clarence G. Roberts, 91, Of Hackensack
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Clarence G. Roberts, a resident of Hackensack, died Friday, Jan. 29. He was 91.He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. A proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served on the USS Nevada and was a World War II buff.
He also was a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Bangor. Prior to retiring, he was an executive with Allied/Stern’s Stores in Paramus for 40 years.
He is survived by Renee Roberts and spouse Nancy Kostos, Patricia Miller and husband Craig; and grandchildren Kristen and Lauren Miller.

Services Set For Tim Murphy, Retired Norwalk Police Lieutenant
NORWALK, Conn. – Former Norwalk Police Lt. Tim Murphy, a New Canaan native, died Friday, Jan. 29, at his home in Florida.
In late February 2015, Murphy retired from his job at the Norwalk Police Department after 33 years of service, and days later was diagnosed with stage-4 cancer.
The wake will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Aloysius Church, 21 Cherry St., New Canaan.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- James S. Swendsen, a resident of Fairfield, died Thursday, Jan. 28. He was 96.Swendsen served in the U.S. Army during World War II achieving the rank of staff sergeant.
He was the retired owner of Regal Robes, where he delighted in providing liturgical robes for clergy, choir members and evangelists for most of his life.

John Joseph Kelly, 82, Of Nanuet
NANUET, N.Y. -- John Joseph Kelly, a resident of Nanuet, died Thursday, Jan. 27. He was 82.After emigrating from Ireland in 1950, Kelly served in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Upon returning, he became a butcher in NYC and settled in Flushing, Queens. He had his own butcher shop called Westport Meat Market in Bayside, Queens. He then worked for New York City as a food inspector. He retired 20 years ago.

Peter Mihaleas, 91, Of Stamford
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Peter Mihaleas, a resident of Stamford, died Tuesday, Jan. 26. He was 91.He was born in New York City on June 5, 1924, to Spiro and Helen Mihaleas.
He was the owner of the Springdale Diner and later used his culinary skills to multiple eateries in and around Stamford.
He is survived by his children, Perry Mihaleas and his wife, Kim, of Stamford; and Helen Santoro and her husband, Scott, also of Stamford; and six grandchildren.
