David A. Linforth, 74, Of Ridgewood
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- David A. Linforth, a resident of Ridgewood, died Friday, Feb. 5. He was 74.He is survived by his wife, Margit, of Ridgewood; two sons, Anthony, of Falls Church, Va., and Erik, of Fairfax, Va.; and three granddaughters. A memorial service will be conducted in Maine at a later date.
John Pinkney, 90, Former Rowayton Resident
ROWAYTON, Conn. -- John E. "Jack" Pinkey, a former resident of Rowayton, died Thursday, Jan. 26, at his home in Tuftonboro, N.H. He was 90.Pinkney was a longtime resident of Woodbury and summer resident of Melvin Village, N.H., before retiring to Tuftonboro in 1994.
His family homestead in Rowayton is now home to Pinkney Park and the Rowayton Historical Society.
He was born in Greenwich on Jan. 10, 1926, to William and Dorothy Cowles Pinkney. He graduated from Greenwich High School in 1944, and attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

George S. Schinski, 94, Hackensack Native
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- George S. Schinski, who was born in Hackensack, recently died at the age of 94. He attended Holy Trinity high school in Hackensack, where he enjoyed sports and having fun. His high school year book shows him hanging, with a big grin, from a tree in front of the school
After working various jobs, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and traveled to Africa and Italy. In between battling the opposition, he participated in shows to entertain the troops and hone his comedic skills. After the war, he joined the Bendix Corporation, where he met his future wife, Josephine O’Shea.

Edith Dean Stowell, 93, Of White Plains
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Edith Dean Stowell, a lifelong resident of White Plains, died Thursday, Jan. 14. She was 93.She was born in the Bronx on March 10, 1922, to Helena and Edwin Moses, and the family moved to White Plains when Edith was a child
A 1939 graduate of White Plains High School, Stowell went on to Katharine Gibbs School.
In 1942, she married Navy Lt. Kenneth C. Stowell, also of White Plains.
During World War II, Stowell worked as a secretary and volunteered at the USO and Junior Red Cross in White Plains.
