NORWALK, Conn. --Victor S. Hernandez, a resident of Norwalk, died Monday, Feb.8. He was 62.Hernandez was a mechanic for the Laidlaw Bus Company. He enjoyed visiting his native country Costa Rica and visiting his family and friends.

NORWOOD, N.J. -- Joseph A. Garofalo, a resident of Norwood, died Monday, Feb.8. He was 83.Garofalo was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a professor of textile science at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City for more than 40 years and had been a trustee and treasurer of the Federal Teachers’ Credit Union, as well as treasurer of the United Federation of Teachers.

TAPPAN, N.J. -- Despina Schildhorn, a resident of Tappan, died Sunday, Jan. 31.She was an active member of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, particularly with the Philoptochos. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth D’Aquino and her husband, Leonard, of Middlebrook, Va.; three grandchildren, Amanda, Matthew, and Catherine; a cherished sister-in-law, Margaret (Midge) Haramis; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
