EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The JerseyFest Food Truck Mashup pits NJ against Philadelphia and takes place on Saturday, June 4 at the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford. Waldwick Girl Scouts Seeking New Members
WALDWICK, N.J. -- Waldwick Girl Scouts are holding a recruitment on Wednesday, May 25at the Waldwick Ambulance Corps Building. Troops are available for girls who will be in grades K-12 in September 2016. Adult volunteers are needed to start new kindergarten troops. FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- More than 100 people attended the Fair Lawn Board of Education meeting on May 19 to protest the district decision to release Thomas Jefferson Middle School Band Director Daniel Burbank from his contract. CARMEL, N.Y. -- Happy birthday to Carmel resident Sabrina Vega.Gymnast Vega was born May 24, 1995 and turns 21 on Tuesday. In 2009, Vega competed at the United States Junior National Championships in Dallas. She won gold on the floor exercise, bronze on balance beam, and finished fourth in the all-around. Vega placed fifth all-around at the 2011 U.S. National Championships in St. Paul. She finished 10th all around at the 2012 Olympic Trials but was not named to the team. Signups Begin For Pascack Valley Junior Police Academy
Applications for the 2016 Pascack Valley Junior Police Academy are currently available at Washington Township, Hillsdale or Westwood police departments. Applications can be picked up at any of the three police departments and returned as soon as possible. Space is limited. Minimum age to attend is 10 years old.
