Paul Milo has worked as a reporter in northern New Jersey for more than 20 years, first for North Jersey Media Group / NorthJersey.com, then at Patch.com and at NJ.com / The Star-Ledger. He has written about a 106-year-old World War I veteran, the Sept. 11 attacks and a 15-year-old stock manipulator who was the youngest person ever civilly charged by the Securities and Exchange Commission, among many other stories. He has interviewed governors, presidential candidates and celebrities including Ryan Seacrest and comedian Kevin Hart.

In addition to his work for New Jersey-based outlets, he has also written for BeliefNet, Editor and Publisher, The Huffington Post, The Boston Globe and other publications, as well as freelance assignments for global chemical company BASF.

His first book, Your Flying Car Awaits, was published by HarperCollins in 2010. As part of the book’s promotional efforts he was interviewed by The New York Times and on WNYC radio’s The Brian Lehrer Show

Woman Killed In South Orange Fire Was Once Victim Of Home Invasion The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the victim in a deadly fire in South Orange early Friday. The blaze broke out at 231 Ward Place around 2:40 a.m. The fire left the three-story, single-family home heavily damaged. Baby Hospitalized After Near-Drowning In West Orange An 18-month-old child was revived after nearly drowning on Thursday in West Orange, a spokesman for the township said.  First-responders were called to a home on Winding Way on a report of a drowning, according to Chief Anthony Vecchio of the West Orange Fire Department.  When first-responders arrived, the child had been rescued and was breathing on its own, Vecchio said. The child was then taken to an area hospital.  Information on the child's condition or on additional circumstances surrounding the incident was not immediately available Friday afternoon.

Suspect In Violent Newark Gas Station Robbery Arrested A man who police say beat up a worker at a Newark gas station while demanding cash was arrested the following day. Brian F. Wright, a 31-year-old East Orange resident, entered the station on McCarter Highway around 1:30 a.m Tuesday. The shirtless Wright demanded a specific amount in cash and repeatedly punched the station employee until another worker gave Wright the cash he asked for, police said. Update: Victim In S. Orange House Fire Was Once Attacked In The Home UPDATE, 10:35 p.m. July 5: The victim in Friday's fire has been identified. Click here for more.  A person died in a fire that broke out at a home in South Orange early Friday morning, authorities said.  The fire, at a home on Ward Place, started shortly before 3 a.m. Video from the scene shows both floors of the home heavily damaged by fire.  The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. A spokesman said early Friday afternoon that next of kin had yet to be notified.  Check back for updates.

Seen HIM? Suspected Phone Thief Posts Selfie On Kearny Victim's Instagram The Kearny Police Department is seeking the public's help catching a phone thief who may be especially brazen.  A person told police May 16 that his iPhone had been stolen. Shortly after the phone was taken, a man believed to be the thief used the phone to take a selfie, which he posted to the victim's Instagram (see attached photo).  Anyone who can identify the person in this photograph is asked to contact the Kearny Police Detective bureau at tips@kearnynjpd.org or by calling 201-998-1313 (extension 2833).  All tips will remain confidential.
