Norwalk River Rowing Squads Bring Home Gold At Philly Regatta NORWALK, Conn. — The Norwalk River Rowing Association (NRRA) Men’s Youth Racing earned a third place in men’s points total at the Philadelphia Youth Regatta on July 22. The regatta is a part of the Schuylkill Navy Series that attracts more than 1,200 athletes from over 54 clubs held on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. NRRA’s total of 36 medals — 24 gold and 12 silver medals — were won by 13 of NRRA’s men’s youth varsity racing team and four novice youth across a variety of categories. Bridgeport Police: Convicted Felon Found With Gun In Routine Traffic Stop BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A routine traffic stop Monday turned up a convicted felon with a loaded 9-mm semiautomatic handgun, police said. Fairfield Police: Camera, Wallet Stolen From Unlocked Cars Overnight FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield police are urging residents to lock their cars after another two thefts from cars left unlocked overnight. A thief made off with a $400 Canon Powershot digital camera in an unlocked car parked in a Davis Road driveway sometime between 8 p.m. on July 28 and 10 a.m. July 29, police said. Fairfield Police Investigating Theft Of Town Limo Service's Lincoln FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The owner of a local limousine service on Saturday reported one of his cars stolen, police said. The victim believes the 2014 Lincoln MKS, valued at $14,000, was taken sometime after 11 p.m. July 28 outside Colonial Express Limousine Service on Lockwood Road. The victim said all of the service’s cars have key codes known only to his employees and family members, police said. He said one employee, who was recently fired for taking a car without permission and crashing it, also had the codes, police said. The theft is under investigation.

Fairfield Police: Shoplifter's Friend Asked 'What Did She Do Now?' FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport woman was arrested Friday afternoon after she stole costume jewelry and snacks from a Fairfield CVS, police said. Fairfield Police: Woman Tried To Steal Cash From 19 Bank Accounts FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A New York woman believed to be part of an organized ring of people using a ‘skimmer’ device scheme to steal cash from bank accounts was arrested Friday on 19 counts of identity theft in Fairfield, police said.
