Fairfield Woman Arrested on Child Endangerment Charges FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Stephens Lane woman was arrested on child endangerment charges Monday after the Fairfield Fire Department found a strong odor of gas in her home, police said. Helen Bambus, 39, was charged with two counts of risk of injury to and impairing the morals of a child and two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment. She was held on $75,000 bond and was expected to appear in court Tuesday. The Fire Department was called to the home just after 2 p.m. and firefighters noticed the smell of gas. Bridgeport Woman Found Unconscious In Fairfield Car Accident FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport woman was sent to St. Vincent’s Medical Center Monday after she was found unconscious in her mother’s Volvo after striking a pickup truck on lower Black Rock Turnpike around 6:15 p.m., police said. Coastal Flood Warning Issued For Fairfield County FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood warning Fairfield County Tuesday. There could be minor coastal flooding Tuesday evening and overnight into Wednesday, the National Weather Service reported. Bridgeport Man Arrested In Stolen Check Incident In Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport man was arrested Tuesday after attempting to deposit a check from a checkbook stolen in Fairfield last year in what may be part of a Bridgeport-based check-cashing ring, police said. Tyshon Walker, 30, of Wayne Street, was charged with criminal attempt at third-degree larceny and second-degree forgery, police said.
