Homeless Man Stole Tips At Westport Bakery, Police Say WESTPORT, Conn. — A 55-year-old homeless man stole money from a tip jar and threatened to kill the cashier at SoNo Baking Company Sunday morning before fleeing the Church Lane scene on a bicycle, police said. Officers caught up with Dave Phillips, who said he spent the money on cigarettes, at Gillespie Center on Jesup Road, police said. He was charged with threatening, disorderly conduct and sixth-degree larceny, police said. He was held on $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 12.

Man Deposited Daughter's $10K In His Account, Westport Police Say WESTPORT, Conn. — A North Branford man was arrested Tuesday after Westport police say he deposited a $10,000 check belonging to his daughter into his own bank account. Robert Tricarico, 60, of Branford Avenue, was charged with second-degree larceny when he was unable to explain why he deposited the check to his own account and was unable to repay the amount, police said.  He was held on $5,000 bond and has a court date of Aug. 4, police said.
