Homeless Man Stole Tips At Westport Bakery, Police Say WESTPORT, Conn. — A 55-year-old homeless man stole money from a tip jar and threatened to kill the cashier at SoNo Baking Company Sunday morning before fleeing the Church Lane scene on a bicycle, police said. Officers caught up with Dave Phillips, who said he spent the money on cigarettes, at Gillespie Center on Jesup Road, police said. He was charged with threatening, disorderly conduct and sixth-degree larceny, police said. He was held on $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 12.

Man Deposited Daughter's $10K In His Account, Westport Police Say WESTPORT, Conn. — A North Branford man was arrested Tuesday after Westport police say he deposited a $10,000 check belonging to his daughter into his own bank account. Robert Tricarico, 60, of Branford Avenue, was charged with second-degree larceny when he was unable to explain why he deposited the check to his own account and was unable to repay the amount, police said. He was held on $5,000 bond and has a court date of Aug. 4, police said.

New York City Man, 62, Charged With Identity Theft In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. — A New York City man was arrested Tuesday after police say he tried to withdraw $4,800 from another person’s bank account. Around 1 p.m., officers were called to Chase Bank on the Post Road East on a report that Roger Harris, 62, of 8th Avenue, was attempting to make a fraudulent withdrawal, police said. Bank employees noticed the signature Harris gave did not match the victim’s and he couldn’t answer security questions, police said. Bridgeport Ex-Inmate Wins Second Chance Scholarship BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — When truck driver Mark Newton was in a serious car accident a few years ago, he was left in so much pain he couldn’t bend to put his socks on. Shelton Massage Therapist Arrested On Sex Assault Charge — Again SHELTON, Conn. — A New York massage therapist arrested on sex assault charges earlier this month turned himself in to police Tuesday, after four additional women accused him of similar complaints, Shelton police said.
