Runners Raise $6,000 For Habitat Bergen In Sunday's NYC Half Marathon RIVER EDGE, N.J. -- Habitat Bergen's team for the upcoming New York City half marathon has raised $6,335. The race is bright and early on Sunday, March 20. Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County has five runners on its team: Josh S., Nina C., Dennis M., Brian K. and Brian S. Habitat got its five slots through the Official Charity Partner program of the United Airlines NYC Half: the race is, generally, sold out. Norwood Soccer League's seventh- and eighth-grade team, two fifth- and sixth-grade teams, and third- and fourth-grade team are advancing. Norwood Soccer League is a recreation soccer league for kindergarten through eighth grade for children that live in or go to school in Norwood. Mahwah Library Will Celebrate Irish Heritage With Song MAHWAH, N.J. -- The Mahwah Public Library will be celebrating Irish heritage with "Paddy Has Gone for a Soldier: Songs of the Irish-American Soldier in the Civil War," on Saturday, March 19.Through stories and songs, Mike Plunkett will bring the experiences of the Irish immigrants to life. Plunkett will perform in period uniform as he plays songs ranging from old Irish ballads to Civil War era songs. The program will begin at 2 p.m. The library is located at 100 Ridge Rd., in Mahwah.
