CT Man, Teen Seriously Injured After Car Crashes Into Stone Wall Off Route 8 in Thomaston Two young men were seriously injured early Saturday morning, June 7, after their car veered off the road and slammed into a stone wall along a highway, authorities said. The crash happened around 3:15 a.m. on Route 8 North in Thomaston, according to Connecticut State Police. The 23-year-old Torrington driver and a 19-year-old passenger were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries. Doctors expect both to survive. White Powder Mailed To Ccsu President's Burlington Home Sparks Police Investigation State police are investigating after someone mailed an envelope of unknown white powder to the home of a state college president this week, authorities said.  Central Connecticut State University President Zulma Toro received the package on Friday, June 6, at her Burlington home around 7:30 p.m., CT Insider reported.  A haz-mat team was called to remove the letter, which had no return address. Paramedics checked on Toro at her home and determined she did not need to go to the hospital, authorities said.  The incident remains under investigation.
