Woman Critical After Newark Stabbing, Man Arrested: Police A woman is in critical condition after being stabbed in Newark on Saturday, March 29, authorities said. At 9:42 p.m., police responded to Vailsburg Terrace and Linden Avenue and found a woman stabbed by a man she knows, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, while the man was arrested at the scene, Miranda said.  The man, who was not identified by police, is charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault and multiple weapons offenses, Miranda said.
