Fugitive Wanted For Sexually Assaulting Child Arrested In Mexico: Camden County Prosecutor A 42-year-old New Jersey fugitive at large for six years was arrested in Mexico on Tuesday, Feb. 11, authorities said. North Bergen Cop Resigns After Sexual Assault Charge: Police Roberto Gonzalez, a police officer in North Bergen resigned last November after being charged with sexual assault. Gonzalez was previously suspended after he was charged with sexual assault in Essex County in March 2023, according to the police department's annual discipline report. Ghost Guns, Meth, Firearm Seized From Pair In Ocean County Raid: AG Two Ocean County residents are facing charges following a raid on Wednesday, Feb. 19 that turned up numerous ghost guns and methamphetamine, authorities said. Three Shot, One Critical In Newark Broad Daylight Shooting: Police (Photos) One person is in critical condition after three people were shot in Newark on the morning of Wednesday, February 19, authorities said. A 10:11 a.m., police responded to the 600 block of South 17th Street and found three people, two women and one man shot, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. The shooting victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, Miranda said. The two women are reportedly in stable condition while the man is reportedly in critical condition, Miranda said. The shooting remains under investigation, Miranda said.

Drunk Driver Who Killed Roxbury Pre-Med Student Learns Fate: Prosecutor A 41-year-old Belleville man was sentenced to six years in prison on Tuesday, Feb. 18 after pleading guilty to driving drunk in a crash that killed an 18-year-old pre-med student in Morris County last May, authorities said. Beachwood Code Enforcement Officer Admits To Using Job For Own Benefit, Prosecutors Say A 58-year-old former code enforcement officer for the Borough of Beachwood admitted on Tuesday, Feb. 18 to using his job to line his own pockets, authorities said. Michael Ruvo, a Toms River resident, pleaded guilty to theft by deception and tampering with public records and is expected to be sentenced to 364 days in jail, Prosecutor Bradley Billhmer said. Seen HIM? Man Missing In Elizabeth, Police Say A man has been missing in Elizabeth since Saturday, Feb. 15, authorities said. Jean Robert Destine was last seen traveling on Adams Avenue toward Fairmount Avenue, Elizabeth police said. He left wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans, Elizabeth police said. He does not carry any identification nor have any money, police said. He is believed to have been diagnosed with a medical condition, police said. Man Dies By Suicide In New Jersey TJ Maxx Parking Lot: Prosecutor A man died by suicide via self-inflicted gunshot wound in a TJ Maxx parking lot on the early morning of Saturday, Feb. 15, authorities said. At 1:40 a.m., Franklin Township Police discovered a male deceased in his vehicle in the parking lot of TJ Maxx, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office said.
